MILL HOUSE
Carrigrohane, Co. Cork 2009
Design and construction of a private residence
MILL HOUSE
Carrigrohane, Co. Cork 2009
The design of this 3-bedroom house on a steep site in the outskirts of the western part of Cork City was driven by the panoramic views over the River Lee, County Hall, Carrigrohane Castle and Ballincollig. To maximise these vistas, all habitable rooms look out on a generous south facing terrace with a large glass facade and sliding doors, whereas corridors, the two bathrooms and other secondary spaces get natural light from two glazed courtyards at the rear slope.
MILL HOUSE
Carrigrohane, Co. Cork 2009
A high quality frameless glass balustrade runs along the edge of the terrace. With hidden fixing rails below the decking level it allows for uninterrupted views from every point of the house. External storage, garage and plant room are located under the main floor to maximise the floor area above.

CONVENT GARDEN
Kinsale 2017
The 18th century Mercy Convent itself presented the most challenging task of converting this large ensemble of listed structures into generous luxury apartments, predominantly duplex units ranging form 120 to 250 sqm. Its location in an architectural conservation area required a minimum intervention approach, i.e. in relation to windows and balconies.© JCA Architects
